HRC10 Rope/Chain Series Maxwell’s new horizontal HRC10 Series represents yet another advancement in performance and excellence in anchor handling. These fully automatic horizontal rope/chain windlasses have been designed to meet the demands of use on larger vessels up to 52.5 ft (52’), requiring a completely above-deck installation system. The HRC10 seamlessly handles rope up to 16 mm and chain up to 3 in (0.394 mm) in size, including heavy rope to chain splice. The modern appearance of the HRC10 Series retains the classic look of previous Maxwell horizontal windlasses, while incorporating design features years ahead of its competitors. All HRC Series windlasses are equipped with Maxwell’s exclusive Wave Design chain wheel. This patented rope/chain wheel incorporates two unique design concepts that greatly improve handling and control of spliced rope and chain. The outer ribs of the chain wheel are angled slightly forward ensuring that the rope and chain are guided smoothly into the wheel during anchor retrieval. As the rope pulls on the wheel, the opposing facing inner ribs grab the rope in a wave-like fashion, securing the rope more firmly in a "wave pattern" action that is far superior to the traditional "jam wad" way of holding rope. This Wave Design not only holds the rope more securely, but is also kinder to the rope resulting in increased longevity of your anchor path.
